Those of you interested in the whole weapons thing might be interested in
the US Department of Defence's intention to demonstrate an Airborne Tactical
Laser in 2001. It should fit in a Chinook, and could take out ground targets
by selectively attacking tyres.

Before the FBI jump on me, this was reported in Photonics Spectra, down my
local library.

Gosh Neil, we're not that shallow. Really we're interested in the inner you,

Chris Blenkarn for Vila (she definitely has his way with words :-)

Dayna and Soolin are tougher - I vote the Godmother in for Dayna however,
just to give her the Ultraworld Bonding scene for her very own.

Dear me, the voyages of the good ship Lollipop - err - Liberator are going
to be rather different ...

Once a _guy_ taught him. Jane didn't even try to explain, "Me Jane, you
Tarzan," to him.

as an adult (as well as the language of the
> great apes
> which he learnt as a child).
>
Actually, if you ever read Farmer's Tarzan Lives, he points out all the
flaws. _Of course_ apes don't have language. A child raised by apes
would suffer permanent mental damage if he survived at all. It was a
tribe of Neanderthals....

That aside, I did like the scene where Jane's back home in the States
(she was a southern belle) and has gotten herself trapped in a forest
fire (this woman had a death wish) when Tarzan drives up in his new
sports car, fancy suit of clothes, and sporting a sophisticated, European
accent (English or French, I'm not sure which).

And what was Jane's reaction to this spurt of chattiness?

She dumped him. For his cousin.

Tarzan, alas, goes on to attract the interest of certain jaded noblewoman
(before she heard him speak) whose resemblance to Servalan is superficial
at best. She gets to know him better. She dumps him.

Then he meets La, High Priestess of a colony of Atlantis, who never heard
him use anything but ape tongue and who couldn't live without him. Except
when she was trying to stick a knife in him. He might have prefered
dumping.

I hate to say this, but, when it comes to bad taste in women, Tarzan
could give Avon a run for the money.

Oh, all right, I enjoyed the books as a kid - which is why I couldn't
take the Tarzan as symbol of masculine barbarism lying down (oh, and to
put in a good word for Neil).

But this needs a stronger B7 link.

OK, if the crew were recast in a Tarzan novel, who would they be?

Hint: Who is most likely to say, "Me, Tarrant. You, Zeeona."?

Yes, it would most definitely get my top vote for that particular
honor. I copied some B7 episodes to send to my sister recently,
starting with "The Web" because that's the first one she hadn't seen.
But I made of point of warning her that if she was going to invite
people over to introduce them to the series (which she said she was),
*not* to just hit "play" and start right there (at least not without
warning them first), or they'd doubtless all be reduced to hysterical
giggles in the first 30 seconds and *never* be able to take the show
seriously.

Me, I love certain selected bits of "The Web." :)

Though at least that one was *supposed* to look like a bad special
effect.

I think I'd rank Moloch before Brian. And probably before the
kennel-on-wheels, too. But my pet favorite is that shot from
"Redemption" that is *so* clearly stock footage taken from an
airplane...

Here now. No Zeeona bashing! Apart from the bad hair, bad makeup,
and mediocre acting, I'm quite fond of Zeeona.

Actually the makeup bothers me more; after all, she inherited the
hair, didn't she? But you don't see Zukan going around all glittery.

Now that I've got all this *space* at prohosting, and now that I've

mostly B7.

Actually it's Zen: Quiet, mysterious, responsible, informative.

Unfortunately there is no photograph of the inner me. To be honest, the pic
on Judith's site is a bit on the harsh side. It fails to capture my better
points. You can find a far far better one at
http://elfwood.lysator.liu.se/loth/e/v/evan/necro.jpg.html which brings my
Avonish qualities more to the fore. I refute all assertions that it
actually looks more like Una.

According to the Meyers Briggs test, I'm Travis (no need to ask which one).
Didn't David Walsh join this list recently? I'd think that he'd be the
obvious candidate for Servalan.

I think Neil makes a great Orac, BTW.
